That is a brave lady, and a brave magazine, and so much sexier than Fence.
This cover scares the crap out of me and disturbs me. She looks drowned. I don't think it's sexy at all, just incredibly sad.
I'm with Rebecca.
I think she looks terrified: vulnerable, infantilized, trapped, as if a predatory thing is standing over her--and that's the position of the viewer--predator. It utterly creeps me out, thank you, Rebecca. NOT sexy.

the photo neither freaks me out or entices me...it feels like an art school photo, the kind we made all the time when we were trying to be cool.
