Without an MFA or a published collection of poetry can I just pray that who ever is reading my National Endowment application has been drinking heavily?????
Supposedly, it is all about the strength of the work you submit. If that's the case, I'd say you have a good chance. I'll cross my fingers for both of us, because I am in that same boat with you. Let's say it is a blue boat, and our paddles are wooden, and grey from weather.

A friend of mine received a NEA grant last time in poetry-- she had neither a book or a MFA.
No alcohol required.
Keep the hope.
