Because my friends love me, one of my friends picked me up the guidelines for the new Minnesota grant which is for women writers this year. It lets you apply for up to $5,000 that can be used to improve your creative mind, hell with that much I could buy a new head.
My friend is applying to go to Thailand and I have spent all morning trying to think of where I would go. Of course, you can use it for other things, computers, childcare (I could get my nanny named Lola) but it is REALLY hard to think that practically. Practically was never one of my strong points. I am toying between returning to Haiti or going to South America, so my question for the day is, where would you go to refresh your creativity mind?

Mexico. No question.

Definitely somewhere by the ocean. There are some parts of Costa Rica that sound amazing.
Cuba.
any where my children aren't
is where i'd go / / i'd like to go to nevada or new mexico / or any desert
i think because it's so totally opposite of living in b.c.
in the mean while i'm going to the neighbouring town to stay @ my g/friends for 3 days so i can rewrite my play / whoo hooo
Oh Ive always wanted to go to Cuba. I am adding that to my list.
Ghostword: where in mexico?
Anne, Coasta Rica IS amazing..
Laurel, my whole family is in Maine that does not equal a vaction.
and finchy, yep I hear ya but I still think I am bringing them with me.
Cambodia: Angkor Wat: Beautiful huge vine-covered collapsing ancient temples in the middle of a jungle. It would rejuv my creativity. hehehe
Ecuador -from highlands to coast and possibly the Galapagos. Machu Pichu might be nice but there is the altitude to consider.
Mexico city, first. But then I'd hit beaches and villages. And I'd need a big grant because I'd want to stay for a long time. I was in Cancun several years ago. I've never gotten over that ocean.
Japan, Ireland, or New Zealand.
Hello, my name is Jennifer and I have an island fixation.
T, I have to second Cancun, I was there in '93 and never quite got over it--plus, if you get caught in the right tide you could wash up on Cuba's shores. ;-)
I was in Play de Carmen for a month. Bella learn to swim in Tulum. It is very beautiful but I dont know if I could write there.
Oh Jennifer, we would get along well. I too, am an island addict.
Costa Rica and Ecuador.
